Why don’t we talk about grief?

Because it’s uncomfortable.
Because it’s messy.
Because no one taught us how.

Grief isn’t something we “get over.” It reshapes who we are, how we see the world, and how we connect with others.

And yet, so often, the expectation is that we should carry on as if nothing has changed — when in reality, everything has.

Spoiler alert: Grief never goes away.
It lives within us.

But when we’re given the safety to share our grief openly, without judgment or timelines, we begin to heal.

If you’ve lost a loved one, I see you.

“There is no grief like the grief that does not speak.”

– Henry Wadsworth

About me

Hi, I’m Nicole. And I know grief intimately.

Losing my sister to COVID-19, my father many years before, and facing a breast cancer diagnosis of my own taught me what so many of us learn the hard way: time is precious, not promised.

And healing? It doesn’t just happen.
It asks for effort.
It calls for courage.
It requires support to address what hurts.

I created My Grief Ally to help normalize conversations about our experiences around grief and loss, and empower fellow grievers to build a future rooted in meaning and purpose.

As a certified grief coach (trained through the ICF-accredited From Grief to Gratitude program), I offer practical tools and tender support as you figure out life after loss at your own pace.

I’ve got you.

Side note: I’m an Indo-Caribbean woman living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I embrace diversity and offer culturally sensitive, deeply compassionate allyship.
